AUGUST will be a “fairly typical” British summertime month with above average temperatures, a Bournemouth weather expert has said.
Giving his outlook for next month, DorsetSun said August will be warmer than average with a settled start, before things turn more unsettled after the middle of the month.
He said that it will be drier than average but nowhere near as dry as July.

DorsetSun said: “August is shaping up to be a fairly typical British summertime month. We are unlikely to experience the heat or drought-like conditions of July, but there should be some warm spells in the mix.
“Generally, the first half of the month looks more settled than the second half of the month. Unusually, parts of northern Britain may see the driest conditions."

He said a brief unsettled spell is possible for the first couple of days, but high pressure should quickly re-establish itself, giving way to a mostly dry and warm start to August.
He added: “It will likely turn more showery during the second half of the month, but temperatures are expected to remain above average.”
In summary, he said just below average rainfall is expected with above average temperatures.
