A BUMPER line-up of events will take place across Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and the rest of Dorset this weekend.

Festivals, a family fun day and a carnival are among the big events going ahead.

The weather is looking dry and settled with highs of 22C on Saturday and Sunday.

Here’s our guide to what’s happening where and when.

Bournemouth Echo: Swanage CarnivalSwanage Carnival

1. Swanage Carnival Week kicks off on Saturday, July 30. The eight-day extravaganza will see the hugely popular carnival procession take place on Saturday at 3pm. Thousands of people will line the seafront for the parade which this year has a ‘Once Upton a Time’ theme. To open the event, Rich Goodwin will soar across the skies in his highly modified Pitts Special S2S ‘Muscle Biplane’ at 2.30pm. There will also be a firework display at 9.45pm.

2. Littledown Family Fun Day returns to Littledown Park on Sunday, July 31, between 11am and 4pm. It will feature games, a funfair, food and drink stalls, live music and more. Admission to the event is free but some charges will apply.

3. There will be live music galore at the sixth Poole Harbour Festival at Baiter Park. Running from Friday until Sunday, more than 40 acts will perform across four stages including the likes of Republica, K-Klass, Scouting For Girls and Dr Meaker. Tickets available now at pooleharbourfestival.com.

4. Bournemouth Reggae Weekender comes to Kings Park between Friday and Sunday. Visitors will find live music, stalls and more.

5. Youngsters can brush up on their circus skills when the Steamship Circus workshop comes to Bournemouth’s Lower Gardens on Sunday between 2pm and 6pm. There will be games and entertainment for little ones.

Bournemouth Echo: Mudeford Arts FestivalMudeford Arts Festival

6. Mudeford Arts Festival returns to Mudeford Quay green on Saturday and Sunday between 11am and 5pm. The annual celebration of the arts, will feature crafts, food and entertainment.

7. There will be free yoga in Bournemouth Central Gardens, Poole’s Upton Country Park and at The Quomps in Christchurch from 9.30am on Sunday.

8. Prepare to go quackers when The Great Duck Race returns to Bournemouth’s Lower Gardens on Saturday and Sunday with races taking place between 11am and 4pm.

9. Humans and their four-legged friends are invited to a Dog’s Day Out on the first floor of Bobby’s department store on Sunday between 11am and 3pm. There will be games, selfie areas, stalls and puppuccinos.
