An unexploded wartime shell has been found on a beach.
Coastguards and a Royal Navy bomb disposal team rushed to Middle Beach, Studland, this morning.
A spokesman for Swanage Coastguard said: "We have, this morning, dealt with a unexploded wartime shell.
"The item was located near to Middle Beach and a cordon was put on to protect the public."
"We would like to thank the National Trust, local businesses and the public for their assistance whilst the beach was closed for safety."
The beach is now fully reopened to the public.
