A MAN from Poole has appeared in court in connection with a fatal crash in Weymouth.
Ricky Gareth Allen, of Poole, has been charged with one count of causing death by dangerous driving.
The defendant is accused of causing the death of Callan Malik-Oud by driving a vehicle, namely a KTM Duke motorcycle, dangerously on the A353 Preston Road on May 4, 2021.
At a Poole Magistrates' Court hearing on Thursday, August 4, Allen did not enter a plea to the charge.
He was released on unconditional bail and is due to appear in Bournemouth Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 5.
As previously reported, police officers responded to the report of a collision on that day involving a blue Yamaha motorcycle, which was reported to have been travelling as part of a wider group of four motorcycles.
Emergency services attended, along with the ambulance service, and the rider of the Yamaha – 26-year-old Callan Malik-Oud – was pronounced dead at the scene.
