A FIRE that devastated a church in Mudeford began with an electrical issue.
The fire service has confirmed that last month’s blaze at the Mudeford All Saints Church was started accidently, and due to an electrical issue within the church building.
As reported, the church became engulfed by flames on the evening of Thursday July 14.
Police closed the road and manned a cordon, whilst more than 50 firefighters battled the fire.

At its peak, there were 12 fire engines, two water carriers and the aerial ladder on scene battling the flames in the building, which had spread to the hall behind.
The fire caused damage described as ‘extensive’, and nearly one month on, residents and passers-by are still gazing in awe at the ruins.
The conclusion of an electrical cause follows investigations carried out by Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue.
A spokesperson for the service said said: “We can confirm that the fire started accidentally, due to an electrical issue within the church building."
