A FLOOD alert has been issued for Christchurch Harbour for the early hours of Monday morning.
The Environment Agency said high spring tides are forecast at 12.15am on Monday, August 15.
The alert will be in force for two hours before and after high water.
A spokesperson said: “The flood alert will be in force for two hours before and after this high water time.
“Forecast tide levels are 1.20m with wind direction and speed being south westerly, Force 3 respectively.
“Forecast high spring tides will raise water levels in the harbour.
"This is expected to result in standing water affecting footpaths and low lying land on the seaward side of flood defences.”
As much as 20mm to 30mm of rainfall could be seen within the space of an hour, the Met Office said.
