THE latest heatwave is finally expected to come to an end today.
Days of hot sunny weather have been seen across Dorset and anyone hoping for some respite will have their wish granted.
Bournemouth-based weather expect said Hurn had seen temperatures of 30C for the past five days running.
Posting on Twitter, he said: “Well to my surprise an hourly observation from Bournemouth Airport shows 30.1C meaning for the first time since 1976 30C has been reached here on 5 days consecutively.”

For the last few days, Dorset has been under an amber weather warning for “extreme heat” which was issued by the Met Office.
However, things are set to change this week with cooler temperatures and the possibility of some thunderstorms.
The Met Office has issued a yellow thunderstorm warning for the next three days affecting the whole of Dorset with the chance of some heavy downpours, hail and frequent lightning.

Bournemouth & Poole Weather said he thought thunderstorms could be “hit and miss” but where they do occur it could potentially be “quite lively”.

Monday, August 15: highs of 27C, cloudy conditions all day, yellow weather warning for thunderstorms
Tuesday, August 16: highs of 21C, chance of a light shower in the afternoon with sunny intervals by evening, yellow weather warning for thunderstorms
Wednesday, August 17: highs of 22C, sunny intervals with a 30 to 40 per cent chance of light rain between 7am and 1pm with a 50 per chance of heavy rain at 4pm, yellow weather warning for thunderstorms
Thursday, August, 18: highs of 22C, sunny intervals changing to partly cloudy by night-time
Friday, August 19: highs of 21C, sunny intervals changing to cloudy by late morning
Saturday, August 20: highs of 20C, sunny intervals changing to cloudy by late morning
