An A-Road is to remain closed for 'most of the week' after a combine harvester damaged a gasline.
The A30 Greenhill, in Sherborne, is closed in both directions between Marston Road and Bristol Road and has been since Thursday (August 11).
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area whilst repair work continues.
A spokesperson for Dorset Council said: "Last Thursday there was an incident with a combine harvester that damaged a gas line. We put an emergency road closure on the A30 and signed an alternative route: Crackmore - Sherborne Road - A357 - Cook's Lane - A3030 - A352
"The latest update from SGN (15/08) is that they are mobilising gangs from across the region with the earliest of one being on site is tomorrow (16/08). (An) explosion in South London is still using a lot of SGN resources.
"The repair is complex with some of the damaged apparatus no longer meeting required standards. It is likely that the road will be shut for most of the week."
As reported, a combine harvester collided with a raised walkway on Greenhill which contains a gas line, and damaged the link in two different places.
Emergency services, SGNgas and Dorset Highways attended the incident last week.
A spokesperson for Dorset Travel said: "The road remains closed into this week because the repairs SGNgas need to make will take longer than previously thought.
"It is likely the road will stay shut for most of this week."
