AN event celebrating Independence Day in Ukraine will be hosted in Bournemouth this weekend.
The Dorset Ukrainian Community group will be marking the Independence Day of Ukraine with a special event on Saturday.
Members of the public are invited to the celebrations, which will be held at YMCA Winton with support from Bournemouth University.
The event is designed to help Ukrainians build connections that will help with their integration into Dorset.
Various stalls will be set up to provide information to visitors, with representatives from key organisations on hand to help, including Citizen Advice, Skills and Learning, Seeking Refugees project and Mploy.

There will also be workshops and master classes to teach visitors about the history behind the Ukraine Independence Day Inteperaters will be available at the event to facilitate communication.
Pikalova Anastasia, an organiser for the event, said: “The protracted months of war left deep imprints on the souls of Ukrainians. Today we want to honor the memory of those who will never be able to celebrate with us again, and morally support those who are now fighting for our sovereignty.
"We will come together in numbers to show our strength, unity and unbreakable spirit. I wish to express my deep gratitude to everyone who is helping in organising and conducting this event all the professionals, volunteers and friends of our community here in Bournemouth."
The event will be held between 12pm to 4pm on Saturday, August 20.
