A Met Office yellow weather warning remains in place for the third day in a row in Bournemouth, with more stormy conditions on the cards.

Rain is forecast for the majority of the day with thundery showers also expected.

While some places might stay dry, others will likely be on the receiving end of torrential downpours with the potential to cause significant disruption.

Yellow weather warning for thunderstorms - what to expect

Experts at the Met Office have put together a list of disruptions which could occur over the coming days.

  • Flooding of homes and businesses could happen quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
  • Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life
  • Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
  • Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • Power cuts might occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
