FIRE crews are in attendance at a blaze on a nature reserve.
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said it has been called 16 times to a blaze at the Bourne Valley Nature Reserve.
A fire service spokesperson said: “We were called at 5.28pm to Bourne Valley Nature Reserve.
“The fire affected an area of 20 metres by 100 metres of land and it was extinguished using four hose reel jets and two mainline jets.
“Crews from Redhill, Westbourne and Poole are in attendance as well as small 4x4 appliances from Poole, Ferndown and Hamworthy. A water carrier from Ringwood was called but is on its way back.”
The call to stop came at 6.23pm.
The spokesperson added that crews will be at the scene “for a while longer” in order to dampen down any remaining hotspots.
There is no indication as to a cause at this time.
