RYANAIR has provided details on the situation which led to passengers destined for Bournemouth Airport being transported from the runway back to the terminal at Tenerife.
The flight from the Spanish island was due to take-off on Saturday lunchtime and land shortly before 4pm in Dorset.
However, as reported, the aircraft came to a sudden halt during the take-off after "swerving" on the runway.
After being sat on the plane for around an hour, passengers were transported back to the terminal at Tenerife South Airport.
On Saturday afternoon it was confirmed that an alternative flight will not take place until the morning of Sunday, August 28.
Passengers reported that they were waiting for several hours to be provided with hotel accomodation for Saturday night.
A Ryanair spokesperson told the Daily Echo: "This flight from Tenerife to Bournemouth (August 27) is delayed overnight having experienced a minor technical issue during take-off.
"Passengers have been provided with overnight accommodation and transport from/to the airport where they will be accommodated on an alternative flight to Bournemouth tomorrow morning (August 28).
"Ryanair sincerely apologises to affected customers for this unfortunate delay, which is entirely beyond our control."
