AN OVERGROWN tree is posing a "dangerous" threat to passers-by who could end up getting a "face full".
A "dangerously low hanging" tree on Meyrick Road in Bournemouth is causing a major obstruction to passers-by, claims a community group.
The giant tree has grown so large that it has grown over the railings of The Queens Hotel hanging over the public footpath.
The litter picking group, Dorset Devils, highlighted the hazard on social media while out clearing up the area and described the tree as "an accident waiting to happen".
Peter Ryan, founder of Dorset Devils said: "So many people walk down the road not looking where they're going, they are on their phones, pushing a pram or daydreaming and they are going to get a mouthful of pine cones.

"The last thing we want is for somebody to get injured and on a serious note someone could poke their eye out.
"It needs to be dealt with as a matter of urgency, the airshow will bring thousands of people to Bournemouth and the tree is on the route to the show.

"You have to limbo and I'm old so I can't even limbo that low.
"The tree is a monster, a third of the walkway is blocked, it's not like we're talking about one small branch.
BCP Council sent a highways inspector to the Queens Hotel after Dorset Devils brought the issue to their attention.
The Hotel has agreed to arrange for their groundsman to cut the branch and remove any obstruction.
