A FIRE at a derelict cinema in Bournemouth town centre on Friday afternoon is believed to be deliberate, the fire service has said.
Emergency services were called to the incident in Westover Road at around 4.30pm.
Three fire crews attended along with police and the ambulance service.
In an update on Friday evening, a Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Firefighters have done a great job containing the fire, which we believe to have been set deliberately.
“We’d like to thank Dorset Police & South West Ambulance for their support at this incident.”
Access to Westover Road was restricted during the incident which concluded by around 6.30pm.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “At 4.34pm on Friday 2 September 2022 Dorset Police received a report of a fire at the old cinema in Westover Road.”
