THE head teacher of QE School in Wimborne has paid tribute to Her Majesty the Queen and remembered her visit to the school in 2008.
Queen Elizabeth II died at Balmoral on Thursday, prompting a state of national mourning.
Katie Boyes, head teacher at QE – which is named after Queen Elizabeth I, said: “It is with great sadness that we join together with the nation and the world in mourning the death of Her late Majesty The Queen, someone who is deeply rooted in the history of our school.

“As a school we have taken time to remember and reflect. King Charles and the Royal Family are in all of our thoughts and prayers.”
Queen Elizabeth II visited the school in 2008 to mark 500 years of free education in Wimborne.
Her Majesty, along with the late Duke Of Edinburgh, spoke to pupils and signed photos of herself.
