A PROCLAMATION of the Accession of His Majesty King Charles lll will be read out in Bournemouth this Sunday.
Following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II earlier this week, Civic Leaders and representatives of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole will gather this Sunday at the BCP Civic Centre to proclaim the accession of the new monarch.
The Chairman of BCP Council will read the local Proclamation of the Accession of His Majesty King Charles lll at 3pm on Sunday, September 11 on the steps of BCP Civic Centre in Bournemouth.

The Chairman of BCP Council, Councillor Nigel Hedges, said: “Whilst we all still very much mourn the loss of Her Majesty The Queen, it’s time for us to join together with the nation in proclaiming the new sovereign.
“This is a time-honoured tradition, and I am proud to be marking this historic occasion on behalf of the people of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.’’

Flags in each of the three towns will be flown at full mast from the time of the Principal Proclamation at St James's Palace today, Saturday, September 10, until Sunday, September 11 at 1pm.
After this time, flags will return to half-mast in mourning for the death of Her Majesty The Queen.
Residents are encouraged to lay floral tributes at War Memorials in Bournemouth and Poole and by the North Porch of Christchurch Priory.
Condolence books remain available for any residents to sign during normal opening hours at Bournemouth and Christchurch libraries as well as Poole Museum.
