WIMBORNE Minster is to hold special services following the death of the Queen on Sunday, September 11.
Tomorrow (Sunday, September 11) the Town Mayor, Councillor Carol Butter will read the town council statement and the proclamation at 3.00pm on the Minster Green.
Next Sunday, September 18 at 3.00pm there will be a special commemoration civic service marking the death of her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Both tomorrow Sunday, September 11 and again on Sunday, September 18 at 9.30am there will be a service of holy communion during the period of mourning. These are in place of the normal Parish Eucharist service.
Members of the public are welcome to attend both of these events.
At 12 noon yesterday Friday, September 9 a short service of prayer and reflection remembering her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II took place in the Minster Church of St Cuthburga, Wimborne Minster.
Led by the rector the Reverend Canon Andrew Rowland with prayers said by the curate the Reverend Nick Wells and the associate priest the Reverend Heather Waldsax.
Around 60 people were present including the mayor, Councillor Carol Butter and deputy mayor Diann March, whilst outside on the Minster Green a crowd gathered to listen to the Minster bells ringing fully muffled for the first time in 70 years to mark the death of the Monarch.
There is a Book of Condolence in the Minster for members of the public to sign.
