CONFIDENCE trickster Roy Moyse may have other victims who have not yet come forward, believes the man who led the investigation in to the case.
The 40-year-old from Monks Way in Bear Wood, Bournemouth, spun his victims stories that he was a businessman, barrister or senior manager.
He was jailed for three-and-a-half years on Friday for befriending people into giving him loans and ripping them off for £100,000.
The man who led the investigation, Roger Doerr, said: "There's no doubt at all in my mind that there are other victims who have not come forward for whatever reasons. I would urge them to do so."
Moyse broke down in tears in the dock as the judge considered his sentence - to the disbelief of his victims in the public gallery.
Mr Doerr, a former policeman employed as a financial investigator by Dorset Police, said: "That was the first time he had shown any remorse. Previously he had shown a stony face."
Moyse tricked just under £100,000 from five victims. Charges involving another three people and a further £40,000 were left to lie on the case file.
Moyse's defence said he did not intend to rip off his victims but events spiralled out of control.
Paul Nippard, from Kinson, a victim who lost £60,000, said: "Mr Doerr was an absolute bloodhound. He would not let go of the case. We cannot praise him enough."
