SHE'S just not destined to see Celine.

A Bournemouth grandmother has been left "absolutely gutted" after her second set of plans to see Celine Dion in concert collapsed.

Two years ago, hotel receptionist Lyn Cochrane travelled to Las Vegas to see her favourite star, only to discover at the very last minute that Celine was too ill to perform.

Undeterred, she and two of her friends booked tickets to see the singer at the O2 arena in London but found out last week that the ticket agency, London-based Elite Ticket Shop, had gone out of business.

Lyn, of Linden Road, Moordown, said: "I just cannot believe our bad luck.

"My friends and I paid £540 for three tickets for her London concert on May 6 and I wanted to pay on my credit card but was asked if I would pay by cheque instead.

"I was dubious but checked out the reputation of the ticket agency and was reassured it was okay.

"Then I get a letter in the post telling me we will not be getting our tickets and we can't get our money back because we paid by cheque.

"We can't afford to buy new tickets so there's nothing we can do.

"I can't tell you how I feel, I am just so angry and so upset for my friends who have lost their money.

"We worked really hard to save up to buy them and all for nothing."

A statement on the Elite Ticket Shop's website confirms the company has ceased to trade and is unable to fulfil its obligations to customers.

"A vast number of customers are expecting tickets for future events, regrettably the company will be unable to provide these to you as it is not in possession of the tickets," it said.

l Cliff Richard fan Val Garner from Ringwood also fell foul of the ticket agency's collapse.

Mrs Garner, a 62-year-old widow, paid £155 to Elite for two tickets for a Cliff concert at Wembley this November but says she has now been told by liquidators that the company has ceased trading, there are no tickets and she'll be lucky if she gets any of her money back.

"I probably should have known better because initially I paid by credit card but was then asked to pay by cheque," said Val who works as a medical receptionist .

"I was naïve."
