TWO Sandbanks residents have launched a "quirky" clothing range to educate and remind everyone how to love their environment just that little bit more.
Beach Culture was created by Jessica Eaton and Fiona Kleanthous with an aim to target the younger generation and discourage littering after seeing the "devastation" lockdown had to beaches.
The pair witnessed the influx of tourists to Sandbanks in lockdown which in turn increased the amount of litter left behind.
The clothing business is aiming to encourage as much awareness as it can around some of the ecological issues that affect beaches.
The company sells clothing with slogans that are "punchy" and "provocative", all their garments are eco friendly, only using recycled materials and all their packaging is biodegradable.
The business also plants a tree for every 10 garments it sell.
Jessica said: "During lockdown people were visiting Sandbanks from all over the UK. We really noticed the increase of rubbish left here during that time.
"Although only a small community of residents live on the Sandbanks peninsula itself, the influx of visitors is overwhelming the council and residents’ ability to care for their surroundings. This was exacerbated during lockdown.
"We also discovered people were asking at the time for Sandbanks clothing items to remember their trip.
"We thought we would make a clothing brand with a positive message about one of the negative issues we have here.
"We are just trying to educate people but in a bit of a quirky way using punchy messages.
"These sharp messages grab the attention of the younger generation.
"We live in Sandbanks, so we are aware better than anyone what is going on.
"We also sell products about the fishing tackle issue, which is one of the biggest problems around here."
The business will soon be launching their Winter collection which will include things like jackets and hats.
