WHAT a difference a year makes! Last Easter saw thousands flocking to the coast as bright sunshine and warm breezes attracted sunbathers and swimmers to Dorset.
But, if forecasts are correct, there is certainly no danger of Easter eggs melting in the sun this weekend.
Instead, we are being urged to wrap up warm as strong, icy winds, dark clouds and even snow head in our direction.
The Easter break is nearly three weeks earlier this year, prompting fears that the tourist trade will suffer.
Last year temperatures pushed the 70 Fahrenheit mark but this year they are unlikely to struggle out of the 40s.
Easter school holidays in different areas of the country range over a period of four weeks this year, bringing hope that visitors will take seasonal breaks over the whole month.
While the bank holiday may bring some colder weather, over the four-week holiday period the resort will offer many opportunities for holidaymakers and day-trippers," said Michelle Duquenoy of Bournemouth Tourism.
"Hotels are busy taking bookings - some are booked, others are relying on last-minute travel decisions - and of course there's plenty to keep everyone entertained."
Events include an indoor roller skating rink at the Littledown Centre and an Easter Big Top Bonanaza at the Oceanarium.
