BATHING her face in milk each morning and two daily tipples of brandy are the secret of a long life, according to Ella Redmond.
And few could argue with grandmother Ella, who celebrated her 107th birthday at Riseborough Care Home in Branksome Wood Road, Bournemouth.
Among guests who attended Ella's birthday celebrations were the Mayor of Bournemouth, Cllr Anne Filer.
Her key worker Caroline Phillips told the Daily Echo: "Ella likes to bathe her face in warm cow's milk every morning; if it isn't properly heated she sends it back to the kitchen.
"She also loves brandy and has a tipple every morning and evening.
"Ella is very particular about her brandy and insists it has to be Courvoisier; none of the cheaper alternatives will do."
Twice-married Ella, who has been a Riseborough resident for five years, is a seasoned traveller.
Caroline said: "Her second husband bought her a yacht as a wedding present.
"They spent a lot of time travelling and went to Paris frequently.
"He died at the age of 64.
"Ella is a very proud and well dressed lady who still takes great pride in her appearance.
"She is wonderful for her age and can still get around. Her sight is failing and she refuses to wear her hearing aid, but she is still very astute and loves a chat."
Caroline added: "As well as milk and brandy, Ella says that eating a good breakfast and eating slowly have helped her live a long, happy and positive life."
