AN ELDERLY man has died and his wife is fighting for life in intensive care following a blaze at their Parkstone home.
The 83-year old husband died at Poole hospital, half an hour after firefighters rushed to the bungalow in Cynthia Road, Newtown, Poole.
The fire - which is not being treating as suspicious - started in the couple's bedroom on Saturday around 10am.
The 79-year-old woman is in a critical condition.
Crews from Poole and Westborne attended and the pair were rushed to hospital suffering from burns and smoke inhalation.
The couple's two daughters, from London, have been notified by police and a full investigation is underway.
