DORSET charity Victim Support has recently moved to Arena in Poole. The official opening was attended by a number of dignitaries.
Those in attendance included Lord Lieutenant of Dorset Valerie Pitt-Rivers, Chief Constable Martin Baker, Annette Brooke MP, mayor Jeff Allen and mayor of Wimborne, Anthony Oliver.
The charity was originally located in Blandford. However, with the increased number of staff and the fact that they were working from 8am to 8pm, they began a search for new offices with security as a priority. After viewing the offices at Arena they soon realised it was a secure environment with 24/7 access and security to ensure a safe working environment for all its staff and volunteers.
"When we visited the offices at Arena we were so excited, my area manager and I both looked at each other and knew it was right," commented chairman of Victim Support Dr Margaret Grundy. "We have felt so welcomed, it has made our life so easy since coming here."
With an excellent base and facilities, Victim Support can continue to deliver the important help they provide to victims of crime. "Victim Support plays a vital role to the witness service at court and to victims mending their broken lives.
"Without them looking after witnesses at court, trials could not go through," said chief constable Martin Baker.
