A FINAL headline act has been added to this summer's five-night Larmer Tree Festival. The festival, which will be staged at Tollard Royal on the Dorset Wiltshire border from Wednesday, July 16 to Sunday, July 20, already boasts big names like Jools Holland, Eric Bibb, The Levellers, Seth Lakeman and Kate Rusby.
They will be joined by top African band Orchestra Baobab, who will top the bill on the Friday with their infectious fusion of Afro-Cuban rhythm, Portuguese Creole melody and Congolese rumba.
They were booked after Larmer Tree co-director James Shepard saw them performing last year and decided they were a perfect Larmer Tree act.
Also on the bill and set to electrify the main lawn on Saturday afternoon is Johnny Depp's favourite band Taraf de Haidouks, a Romanian outfit described by The Independent as "the best Gypsy band in the world".
Other acts include The King of Kwassa Kwassa, Kanda Bongo Man, Aussie singer-songwriter Jeff Lang, hilarious purveyors of "Chap Rock" The Don Bradmans, the award-winning Royal Rarhi Chhou Dancers from Bengal, plus local acts Mary Spender and the Glowglobes.
