CHRIS Snow landed a bass weighing 4lb 15oz that proved to be the heaviest fish taken during the latest round of the Isac Open Pegged League.
Snow was one 90 competitors who fished the stretch of shoreline between Avon Beach and Highcliffe.
In all, 79 anglers were successful in catching fish. The night's haul included two bass, nine flounders, 237 pout, 127 rockling, one silver eel and 435 undersize fish which were all released alive.
Steve Deathe landed the best flounder,weighing 1-6, followed by Gary Johnson with a flounder of 1-5.

- Dave Lane and Mike Johnson, who comes from Southampton, now head the overall leader table with 12 penalty points followed by Alan Smith (14), Peter Cracknell (15) and then Steve Deathe, Ben Stockley and Darren Phillips all with 16 points.
The next match in the pegged open series will be held at Hordle Cliff on April 19 with fishing from 8pm to 1am when small-eyed-rays and dogfish are expected to supply most of the action along with a smattering of pout, a few small turbot and an early smooth hound.

DAWKINS ON TOP
THE final round of the Loni's Open Catch and Release Series was held at Avon Beach where pout rockling and flounders provided the action.
Andrew Dawkins was the winner with 140cm followed by Malcolm Stote (113), Chris Ellis (111) and Simon Stockley (41).
Overall series results: 1 Malcolm Stote, 2 Chris Ellis, 3 Andrew Dawkins.
WESSEX AGM
THE Wessex Division of the National Federation of Sea Anglers stage their annual meeting on April 4 at the Grey Friars Community Centre, Ringwood starting at 7.30pm.
All clubs are requested to send two delegates. Individual anglers are also welcome.
The meeting will be an ideal opportunity for local anglers to get an update on the Unity project.
The division's Individual Members and Champion of Champions boat competition will be held out from Poole on June 7 but there are only a limited number of species available. Closing date for entries is May 10.
