THEY say that blood is thicker than water, but for sisters Miriam (Carol Willison), Maureen (Rachel Huntley) and Margaret (Judy Harris), the thickest thing is the plot as to which of them will inherit their father's money.
All they have to do is decide who is to look after their sister Mavis, superbly played by Lonnie Watson, as whoever does will inherit the money. The problem is that Mavis is a little dotty to say the least and has been tucked away in an institution.
Carol Willison as Miriam holds the play together while trying to persuade her husband Austin, that Mavis should live with them.
David Wickham, was a delight to watch, his facial expressions were endless and his comic timing excellent. Josey, Miriam's daughter is ably played by BJ Miller.
Tudor (Steve Watton) and Avril (Joan Ogden) gave good performances and I started to believe that they should both have been in the institution with Mavis.
The whole cast, which included Jack Snell, Chloe Bovingdon, Andy Goater, Jeremy Smith, Val Smith and Joan Pitts, worked well together as a team and all performances were well judged.
The pace on the first night was a little slow in places but this did not spoil the enjoyment.
