TWO motorcyclists died and a woman was seriously injured in three collisions on Sunday.
A motorcyclist from Wimborne died after his bike left the road and collided with a tree on Sunday in the New Forest.
The green Kawasaki had been travelling east along the B3078 Roger Penny Way from Linwood towards Brook in the New Forest at the time of the accident, at around 7.15pm.
The 22-year-old man suffered multiple head injuries.
Officers from Hampshire Constabulary's Roads Policing Unit attempted to resuscitate him but he was later pronounced dead at the scene. The road was closed for five hours to allow for a full investigation.
The dead man has not yet been named, and details of the collision have been passed to the coroner.
A 37-year-old Poole man died after his black Suzuki motorbike hit the central barrier on the A35 Fleetsbridge flyover.
He had been riding with another man on a Suzuki bike when he lost control at just before 6pm on Sunday. He was declared dead at the scene.
The other rider did not lose control and wasn't injured.
A 37-year-old Poole man was arrested on suspicion of a serious road traffic offence. He has been bailed pending further enquires.
And a 54-year-old Ferndown woman is being treated for serious spinal injuries after the car she was travelling in hit a tree and overturned.
The Blue Honda Civic, being driven by her husband, lost control while heading east on the A31 on Sunday afternoon.
It hit a tree between the Roundhouse roundabout on the A350 and the Coventry Arms pub at around 3.10pm.
The driver had minor injuries, but his wife, in the front passenger seat, was seriously injured.
Specialist staff from Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester, were flown in by the Dorset Police helicopter at the request of paramedics to help treat her at the scene. The woman is now in the hospital's intensive care unit and is said to be stable.
