THE countdown is on to Bournemouth's Christmas market - and it will be offering a new experience this year.
Bournemouth's popular Christmas market returns to the Square between November 18 and January 2.
This year the event organisers say are "delighted" to announce a new extended area located on the front terrace of the Pavilion, which will be called The Après Terrace.
The new area will include games, igloo domes, food trucks and lots more.
Simon Brooks, director of Bournemouth Christmas market, said: “It is with great pleasure that we can announce the dates for the 2022 Bournemouth Christmas market.
"Alongside the Christmas Tree Wonderland, Lower Gardens ice rink, and a brand-new area we are working on called the ‘Après Terrace’; we look forward to welcoming visitors to the Christmas in Bournemouth experience.
"As a town, our Christmas offering has really grown over the past four years and as a free to attend event, we look forward to seeing some Christmas cheer.”
The Christmas market will be helping spread the Christmas spirit with a festive offering of over 40 trader chalets, providing a selection of Christmas gifts, handmade goods, and food stalls.
Joining the festive fun this year are local retail stalls including the South Coast Makers market, Dorset Chili, Cherry Tree Preserves, Lafi Crafts, hand painted bauble gifts, personalised Christmas decorations and more.
The much-loved food stalls include the Christmas market staples such as hog roast and the Yorkshire pudding wrap stall as well festive hot chocolates, Christmas churros and a raclette melted cheese stall.
Plus, the local vegan business Mighty Wieners will be joining in the festive fun for the first time this year.
The two-storey Alpine Lodge will return to deliver the perfect setting for festive meetups offering steins of cold beer, warm mulled wine and cider, and more across two floors of Alpine festive fun.
2022 brings a brand-new branded Bournemouth Christmas market mulled wine cup, designed by local artist and illustrator Lobi Creative.
