A MAN from Poole stole a £1,200 nine-carat yellow gold chain from a Dorset jeweller.
Kieren Erol Bekir, aged 33, committed the theft at Dorchester Jewellers on January 19.
Bekir, whose address was given as Millstream Close, Poole, pleaded guilty to charge when he appeared in court in July 14.
He was back in the dock at Poole Magistrates’ Court on September 15 to be sentenced.
The court heard the defendant stolen an 18-inch nine carat yellow gold curb chain from the jewellers in Cornhill.
Bekir was issued with a 12-month community order, which included a requirement to carry out up to 30 days of rehabilitation activity.
Magistrates also ordered that he pay £1,200 compensation.
