RINGWOOD Carnival’s fireworks finale is back on for this evening following “positive discussions” after they were initially cancelled.
Organisers said earlier the event’s fireworks display, which traditionally concludes the carnival, was to be cancelled after a threat of legal action was reportedly received by a leaseholder.
However, following “positive discussions and co-operation” between the parties involved, organisers were pleased to say the popular firework conclusion will take place as scheduled at 9.30pm.
Additionally, residents and visitors will be invited to conduct a collective applause ahead of both processions following a canon sounding which is to be done out of respect and in celebration of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s life.
