THE owner of a café in Westbourne was left “surprised” when a former Premier League football manager came in for a coffee.
Claire Dicker, owner of Westbourne Sandwich Company in Seamoor Road, was left “surprised” when footballing legend and Sandbanks resident Harry Redknapp came in for a “coffee and a chat”.
Claire described Harry as a “lovely chap”, adding: “He came in for a coffee and a chat and sat there quietly. It was a surprise when he came in, but it is nice to see him support local businesses.
“He also spoke to some customers and was very polite.”
Claire said Harry came into the café at around 8:30am on Friday, September 23 with another man.
Claire also revealed Harry left a tip for her but was adamant the amount would remain “undisclosed.”
Harry Redknapp is no stranger to people in Bournemouth and Poole. Last month, Harry opened Jollyes pet store in Poole.
In March, he and wife Sandra took part in a fundraising walk along the seafront to raise money for the people of Ukraine during Russia’s invasion.
The former AFC Bournemouth manager and King of the Jungle put his former Sandbanks home on the market in 2020 for a mouth-watering £11million.

Redknapp sold the mock-Tudor home in 2015 for £6.9million after 13 years of living there, bought by millionaire businessman Barry Bester, the founder of Topps Tiles.
He spent £2.5m gutting and refurbishing the waterfront home.
The house, called Harbour Gate, has six bedrooms, a kitchen and breakfast room, dining room, lounge, cinema room, library, indoor swimming pool, gym with sauna and an office.
Redknapp sold the property and moved to the other side of the peninsula, preferring a view out to the channel than one into Poole Harbour.
It was reported that Redknapp bought the new property for £4million.
The home, known as Solaris, enjoys panoramic views across Poole Bay and has a 'striking' glass frontage facing Banks Road.
The family moved to Branksome Park last year.
