We apologise for any inconvenience caused
In a post on Twitter at around 9.15pm on Monday evening, a Morebus spokesperson said: “Due to youths throwing objects at our buses on Turlin Moor estate , we have removed our buses from the estate for the rest of the evening.
“We will not accept our drivers and passengers being put at risk of harm.”
The spokesperson added: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
Over the past few months, Morebus has made the decision buses on multiple occasions following similar incidents elsewhere.
As previously reported by the Daily Echo, buses were paused earlier this month in West Howe after objects were thrown at buses.
And last month, three Morebus services were forced to divert on August 31 due to vandalism to vehicles.
Days prior to this, pellets or ball bearings were also thrown a vehicle in Cunningham Crescent.
