WITNESSES or people with dashcam footage are being urged to come forward as police investigate a crash which resulted in serious injuries to a cyclist.

Dorset Police received a report at 2.51pm on Tuesday September 27 of a crash in St Osmunds Road in Poole, near to the junction with Kings Avenue, involving a lorry and a bicycle.

Officers attended along with the ambulance service and the 18-year-old male cyclist was taken by air ambulance to Southampton Hospital for treatment to serious injuries. His family has been informed.

Road closures were put in place as the emergency services responded to the incident and an examination of the scene was conducted.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward as they investigate the serious injury road traffic collision.

Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the traffic unit, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to please make contact with us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures. As ever, these are necessary to allow the emergency services to respond safely and for an examination of the collision scene to be carried out.”
