FLIGHTS between Southampton and Manchester are set to restart again next month.
Eastern Airways has announced that it will be resuming its route between Manchester and Southampton Airport as of October 3.
Flights will run twice daily and includes day return options in both directions plus a myriad of onward connectivity at the Manchester hub.
The airline says the news has been welcomed positively by many businesses as well as passengers who will be connecting on Southampton’s cruise networks.

Roger Hage, General Manager at Eastern Airways, said: “Given the ongoing rail disruption and increased passenger confidence and business-related activity, we want to ensure the right services are being offered at the morning and evening peak times.
"Eastern Airways is all about supporting the regions of the UK, connecting people and places.
"Ensuring the North-West’s main hub airport of Manchester is connected to Southampton again, is why adding further services at hubs we already serve is a crucial part of increasing connectivity and aiding economic recovery.”

The service will operate on low-emission regional turbo-prop aircraft which the company says will also ensure the route is delivered as a "lower carbon environmentally sustainable option".
