PLANS have been unveiled to drop a stretch of a 40mph road in east Dorset to a 30mph speed limit.
Dorset Council is proposing to change the speed limit in Horton Road, Three Legged Cross and Horton Heath.
A public notice on the traffic regulation order says the plan will introduce a 30mph speed limit from a point around 100 metres west of Holt Road westwards for a distance of approximately 340 metres.
Residents can submit their comments for or against the proposal to Dorset Council’s traffic regulation order team. The deadline for submissions is October 14.
In a statement of reasons for seeking the order, council officers said it is to regulate or reduce the speed of vehicles to a level which drivers can readily meet the general dangers which may be expected on these roads.
