A LARGE police presence involving armed response officers was involved in a pursuit in relation to a road rage incident in Bournemouth.
Residents reported seeing more than half a dozen police cars involved in a chase in the Castle Lane area near Castlepoint at around 11pm on Saturday, October 1.
Dorset Police has said this was in relation to enquiries following a reported assault by two men following a road rage incident in Redhill Avenue earlier that evening.
A force spokesperson said: “It was reported that the offenders left the scene in a grey BMW.
“The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury and has since been discharged.”
A 41-year-old man was located at an address in Bournemouth and arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm.
Officers received a subsequent report that the BMW believed to be involved in the earlier incident was located driving in West Howe.
“Officers followed the vehicle and it was subsequently stopped in Cunningham Crescent,” the spokesperson said.
A 33-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and driving offences.
Both men have been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
