GREEN-FINGERED residents in Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch are being urged to sign up to the 2023 Garden Easte collection service.
The service, which runs fortnightly from 13 February until 15 December, will cost £60 and will mean BCP Council collects your garden waste.
The price of the current years’ service was discounted to reflect two missed collections from 2021. The price for the 2023 service includes all 22 collections, a rise due to inflation and other operational costs.
Councillor Mark Anderson, portfolio holder for environment and place, said: “If 2023 is the year that you’re finally going to tackle your garden, then our garden waste service is an invaluable one for everyone.
“It saves on time spent taking your garden waste to one of our recycling centres, as well as money spent on fuel to get there.
“So far this year we’ve collected over 10,764 tonnes of garden waste, and we want to increase that figure further in 2023.
“Our garden waste service, along with home composting, is an environmentally friendly way of disposing of your garden waste, as the waste that’s collected is turned into a high-quality compost, which is then used in agriculture.”
