A MAN arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and kidnap in Bournemouth remains on police bail.
As previously reported, a 29-year-old man was arrested after a 19-year-old woman was reportedly locked in a car by a man claiming to be an Uber driver and sexually assaulted.
Giving an update yesterday, Dorset Police said: “The arrested man remains on police bail while enquiries continue.”
It was reported the woman was offered a lift outside the BIC in Bournemouth town centre at around 2am on Sunday, September 11.
When the woman got into the vehicle, it was reported the man locked the doors and touched the victim inappropriately.
The driver was reportedly unable to provide any identification when challenged by the victim and eventually drove her home.
It is understood another woman may have been approached in similar circumstances shortly before 2am on the same day in the area of St Peter’s Road and Fir Vale Road, but did not get into the vehicle.
Last month, police appealed for the woman to contact them as part of their investigation and said she may have “important” information.
