To mark National Curry Week last week, we invited Echo readers to tell us their favourite place to have a curry in Bournemouth.
Scores of people responded and we’ve rounded up the top five restaurants and how people on Google or TripAdvisor rate them.

Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal in Poole Road, Westbourne, promises to serve a “traditional, authentic and stimulating range of Indian dishes”.
Offering a restaurant and takeaway service, customers can take their pick from a range of popular dishes such as kurma, balti, tikka, biryani and madras, alongside “new dishes” such as peshwari, handi gosht and banarash.
The restaurant is open from 5pm until 11pm everyday.
Taj Mahal has an overall rating of 4.0 with 395 reviews of which 228 rated it as 'excellent'.
One review on TripAdvisor read: "Lovely curry and good service, recommended place to eat. We were walking past and a customer came out and recommended to us."
It is ranked the 14th best Indian restaurant in Bournemouth out of 44 establishments.
It has a rating of 4.1 on Google with 350 reviews submitted.
Eye of the Tiger
Established in 1979, Eye of the Tiger in Old Christchurch Road is a popular restaurant and takeaway.
On the website, the eatery says it prides itself on "recreating traditional Indian dishes from the Indian sub-continent".
The menu includes korma, dhansak, dupiaza, kashmiri, pathia, vindaloo, madras, plus a range of vegetarian and seafood dishes.
Eye of the Tiger is open between 5pm and 10pm Sunday to Thursday and from 5pm to 11pm Friday and Saturday.
It offers free delivery within a three mile radius.
It has a rating of 4.0 out of five on TripAdvisor with 493 reviews.
One person said: "We are seasoned Asian cuisine eaters. The two fish dishes we had tonight were excellent and were served by friendly, efficient staff. The whole experience was delightful."
It has a rating of 4.1 on Google with 342 reviews.
The Balti House
Located in Christchurch Road at Pokesdown, The Balti House restaurant and takeaway has a rating of 4.0 out of five on TripAdvisor with 170 reviews with 117 rating it as 'excellent'.
One commenter said: "We’ve been coming to the Balti House for years, never had a bad meal but the last few times have simply been amazing. Best Indian in Bournemouth."
Dishes on offer include 'old favourites' such as korma, bhuna, rogan josh, pathia, dansak, vindaloo and madras.
On the specials menu, you'll find cylon, garlic chilli, korai, jalfrezi, naga and asari.
The Balti House is open seven days a week from 5pm to 11pm Sunday to Thursday and until 11.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
It has a rating of 4.5 on Google with 326 reviews logged.
Everest-29032
This restaurant in Kinson Road serves a "twist" on Nepalese and Indian dishes.
According to the website, Everest-29032 provides its guests "a blend of classic and contemporary cooking in a comfortable and modern atmosphere with soft lighting and a warm ambiance".
Dishes include the Everest shashlik masala, narikel duck, tandoori seared lamb rack and the haryali lamb special.
There's also a range of seafood, vegetarian and biryani.
The restaurant is open from 5pm to 10pm Tuesday to Thursday and on Sundays and until 11pm on Friday and Saturday. It is closed on Mondays.
There's free delivery up to four miles on orders costing a minimum of £20.
It has a 5.0 rating on TripAdvisor with 58 reviews all stating it as 'excellent'.
One review said: "It was our first visit to this restaurant. Nice decor, clean, friendly staff and fabulous food. Finally have found a restaurant locally that has great tasting food.
"I had Boti Pudina and Lamb Achari and both tasted great. Very reasonably priced.
So nice we booked another table before we left for next weekend."
Naan Restaurant
Located in Wimborne Road, Moordown, Naan has a rating of 4.5 on TripAdvisor with 350 reviews of which 261 rate the restaurant as 'excellent'.
One review said: "Visited with my friends it was a great experience and excellent food, service was great, ambience was good, highly recommended."
Chef specials include dum biyrani, chawla punjabi curry, kerala fish curry, prawn butter pepper garlic and saagwala meat.
There's free home delivery within a one mile radius on orders over £15.
It has a rating of 4.5 with 237 Google reviews.
One review read: "Great service, Amazing food, Helpful Staff and a great atmosphere."
