A thrilling sci-fi action-adventure movie shot entirely in Bournemouth and starring Griff Rhys Jones will be coming to cinemas soon.

Future TX is a new family film set to air on October 21 and will be playing at Bournemouth's BH2 Odeon. 

The film was made by an independent filmmaking team led by Tim Clague and Danny Stack at Nelson Nutmeg Pictures who are based in Bournemouth.

It’s a fun and fast story about two kids who receive strange messages from the future via their new mobile phones and it’s up to them if the future is going to survive.

The story is also a cautionary tale on how technology has the power to control our lives.

What’s even more exciting is that the film was filmed entirely in Bournemouth.

The filmmakers make all their films and TV shows in Bournemouth, where they are based.

Danny from Nelson Nutmeg Pictures said: "There are amazing locations and equally fantastic crew in Bournemouth and Poole, so we wanted to utilise the best of what was on our doorstep, rather than having to go to fancy studios in London or seek out crew from elsewhere."

Future TX stars Griff Rhys Jones, whose career spans 40 years of British film and TV. It also stars Arran Kemp and Adele Congreve, Doug Cockle, Christos Lawton, Catriona Knox and Nicole Faraday.

This is the second family film Nelson Nutmeg Pictures have made in the area.

Their debut was 'Who Killed Nelson Nutmeg?' starring Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley from Harry Potter), which was shot in Bridport and Bournemouth.

Tim and Danny also made the live-action children’s TV series, Dog Years, in a studio in Poole - the series is now streaming worldwide, and available on Amazon Prime.

Future TX will also be screening in 31 other Odeon cinemas.
