DORSET’s first and only axe-throwing bar is to open at a new venue in Bournemouth town centre next week.
Boom Battle Bar, which has venues across the country including Plymouth and Exeter, will have axe-throwing, augmented darts, shuffleboard and more.
Opening on Thursday, October 20 at BH2 next to Brewdog, Boom Battle Bar has a variety of drinks on the menu, including premium draught lagers and specialty cocktails, such as Rose and Lychee Martini, mixed by the bar team.
The quirky new bar will also be serving street-style snacks such as chicken wings, loaded nachos and freshly made pizzas.
A spokesperson for Boom Battle Bar said: “We are Boom Battle Bar, an epic new games venue that hosts a variety of unique activities including axe throwing, so much more.
“We are the UK’s first and only Battle Bar, where the spirit of competitive play casts you away from the mundane every day and immerses you in a night out to remember.
“Perfect for date nights, celebrating occasions with friends and even work events, we have something for everyone here and it is an experience you don’t want to miss.”

The bar will open every day of the week from 12pm until late. Guests are encouraged to book before attending.
Bryan Taylor, BH2 leisure centre manager, said: “It's really exciting to welcome Boom Battle Bar to the centre. It’s a great addition to our leisure offering, joining great brands such as Mr Mulligans, Odeon, Brewdog, The Real Greek and so much more.”
Also next Thursday a new escape room will be opening in BH2 leisure complex.
Bookings are being taken for Escape Hunt Bournemouth from now for the opening day on October 20.
Escape room fans will be able to choose four differently themed challenges; from falling down the rabbit hole in Alice in Puzzleland, capturing the lamp in Aladdin & The Magic Vault, returning a stolen amulet in Curse of the Pharaoh, or steping aboard a pirate ship in Blackbeard’s Treasure.
