A MAN has been arrested in connection with an assault in Bournemouth which resulted in a woman losing the sight in one of her eyes.
A woman in her 30s was found with a facial injury in Richmond Gardens car park at around 1.40pm on Saturday, September 24.
It was reported the woman had been assaulted by a man who was known to her.
The woman was taken to hospital for treatment to an eye injury and it has now been reported that she has lost sight in her eye.
Following enquiries by detectives from Bournemouth CID, a 33-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm.
He has been released on police bail as the investigation continues.
Detective Constable Philip Riggs, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We are still conducting enquiries into this matter and from our investigation we believe there were a number of people at the scene who we have not spoken to yet as potential witnesses. I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.
“I would also ask anyone with further information regarding this incident to please get in touch.”
