There's not long to go until Dorset's first axe-throwing bar opens in Bournemouth town centre.

The unique attraction, which has sister venues in Exeter and Plymouth, is opening in BH2, which also houses the Odeon cinema and Mr Mulligan's indoor crazy golf.

What is Boom Battle Bar?

Boom Battle Bar will have:

  • Axe-throwing
  • Augmented darts
  • Shuffleboard
  • American pool
  • Beer pong
  • Crazier nolf
  • Karaoke

When will it open?

Opening on Thursday, October 20 at BH2 next to Brewdog. The bar will open every day of the week from 12pm until late. Guests are encouraged to book before attending.

Are you telling me I can drink a beer and throw an axe?

Well, not quite. BUT Boom Battle Bar has a variety of drinks on the menu, including premium draught lagers and specialty cocktails, such as rose and lychee martini, mixed by the bar team. 

The quirky new bar will also be serving street-style snacks such as chicken wings, loaded nachos and freshly made pizzas.

Do they allow corporate functions?

A spokesperson for the company said the venue is perfect for date nights, celebrating occasions with friends and even work events.

Is there another attraction opening at BH2?

A new escape room will be opening in BH2 leisure complex.

Bookings are being taken for Escape Hunt Bournemouth from now for the opening day on October 20. 

Escape room fans will be able to choose four differently themed challenges; from falling down the rabbit hole in Alice in Puzzleland, capturing the lamp in Aladdin & The Magic Vault, returning a stolen amulet in Curse of the Pharaoh, or steping aboard a pirate ship in Blackbeard’s Treasure.
