RESIDENTS in Bournemouth were left in shock, and anger yesterday morning after they woke up to find cars parked on their streets had been vandalised.
Cars parked in Strouden Avenue, Brackendale Road, Bower Road and Ibbertson Road had their windows smashed in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, October 15.
The owners woke up to find their cars damaged, many with windows completely smashed.
One frustrated resident, who didn’t want to be named in fear of it happening again, said: “I don’t know how this has happened or who has done it, but they’re idiots.
“It's such a pointless thing to do.”
Another added: “I thought I might have been targeted but can't have been if other roads have reported the same incident.”
The roads of the affected vehicles are all connected, apart from Ibberston Road which is on the other side of Castle Lane West.
It appears only cars parked on the street overnight were smashed and nobody we spoke to witnessed the attacks.
Another resident added the incident happened at around 10pm to 10.30pm on Saturday. Police were called and were searching the area for a suspect.
One person suspected a sling shot had been used in the vandalism attack.
A Dorset Police spokesman said: "We received a report at 10.51pm on Saturday 15 October 2022 that at least two vehicles had been damage in Strouden Road in Bournemouth.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. No arrests have been made aware at this stage."
