A BOURNEMOUTH MP has described last night’s chaotic scenes in Westminster as a “circus of instability”.
Conor Burns, MP for Bournemouth West, has said he is “as angry as my constituents” at what he was watching at Westminster yesterday and that the public will be “rightly unforgiving” if it continues.
Home Secretary Suella Braverman was sacked yesterday afternoon after accidentally sending an official document from her personal email account, which constitutes a “technical infringement of the rules”, there was allegations of bullying and “manhandling” in the voting lobby and the Tory Chief Whip and Deputy Whip resigned – then un-resigned.
Speaking with the Daily Echo this morning, Mr Burns said: “I am as angry as my constituents at what we are watching in Westminster.
“Due to a medical challenge I am working from Bournemouth currently and watched yesterday in the way my constituents did.
“The Government has a good majority and a vast range of challenges to deal with.
“With global challenges on energy and instability not least impacted by Putin’s war in Ukraine people expect and demand their demand to focus on those not silly Westminster games.
“I am convinced that if my colleagues calm down and remember who put us into Parliament and who ultimately we serve we can again deliver stable and competent governance for our country.
“It is for all of us to decide which individuals should be the people in Ministerial office to deliver that.
“The public rightly will be unforgiving if this circus of instability continues for any longer.”
Mr Burns was not present at last night’s vote on fracking as he was in Bournemouth due to a “medical challenge”.
