THE speed limit along a busy main route in Bournemouth will be temporarily reduced from 40mph to 30mph for almost four weeks from next month.
A temporary speed restriction will be in force on the A338 Wessex Way on both sides of the carriageway from Bournemouth West Roundabout to St Pauls Roundabout.
The speed reduction will be in place between November 14 and December 9 while highway improvement works are carried out by BCP Council.
During the works, the eastbound off slip will be closed to all traffic from Richmond Hill Interchange to the Wessex Way eastbound.
BCP Council said the closure is needed to allow for “health and safety whilst highway improvement works are undertaken”.
Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
A diversion will be in place with drivers urged to travel via westbound off the slip from the Richmond Hill Interchange, Wessex Way westbound, Bournemouth West Roundabout and the Wessex Way eastbound.
