INTERNATIONAL film star Anthony Andrews trotted off with five top horse awards at the 40th Ellingham Show.
More than £6,000 was taken on the gates to the 40-acre showground site on Homelands Farm, Three Legged Cross – up 30 per cent on the previous year.
Despite his horse Dad's Spot refusing the first fence in the Open Jumping event, Mr Andrews - best known for his starring appearance in the television series Brideshead Revisited – then went clear to win.
Record entries were recorded in most of the competitions for horticulture, agriculture, flowers, goats, horses, donkeys, cattle, sheep and dogs.
A pantomime cow was given second place in the New Forest Cattle section after only one proper entry was received.
There were more than seven trade stalls at the event when it took place in August 1987.
