A FLOOD alert has been issued for Christchurch Harbour by the Environment Agency following thunderstorms in Dorset over the weekend.
A flood alert has been issued for Christchurch Harbour as light rain showers are expected today following a weekend of thunderstorms.
The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms over the weekend with thunder, lightning and flooding in the area.

Today light showers are expected across BCP, changing to sunny intervals by lunchtime, with highs of 17 degrees and lows of 16.
Flood alert for Christchurch Harbour
A flood alert has been issued for Christchurch Harbour by the Environment Agency with the rain set to arrive today.
The Environment Agency said: "Tides are expected to be higher than usual due to the forecast weather conditions during coming tides.
“Areas most at risk include Christchurch Harbour and tidal stretches of the Lower Stour and Avon.
“The first forecast high water is at 10.15am on Tuesday 25 with a level of 1.21mAODN with southerly force 5 winds.
“The second forecast high water is at 9.45pm on Tuesday 25 with a level of 1.27mAODN with south-easterly force 5 winds.
“Flooding is possible two hours either side of these times. We are closing locks and flood gates in the area.
“It is forecast that the tide between 9.30am and Midday on Wednesday 26 will be higher than Tuesday's tides and is forecast to reach 1.43mAODN.
“We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert if necessary.
“Consider activating any property flood protection products in Christchurch Harbour.
“This message will be updated by 9.00am on Wednesday 26, or as the situation changes.”
