A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of a drugs offence following an intervention by vigilant police officers on patrol in Bournemouth.
At approximately 11.15am on Saturday, October 22, officers were on patrol in Old Christchurch Road when they spotted a man reportedly acting suspiciously in Horseshoe Common.
The man subsequently got into a vehicle with a second man and officers decided to follow the car to St Stephen’s Road.
Officers approached the vehicle and the men were detained for a search.
Following this, a 22-year-old man from Feltham in London was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class B drug and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Sergeant Cameron Thompson, of the BCP Neighbourhood Enforcement Team, said: “We are committed to disrupting the efforts of those who are suspected of being involved in the supply of drugs in our communities.
“I would urge anyone with information relating to suspected drug-related activity to please report it to us at www.dorset.police.uk/contact, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101. If a crime is in progress, always dial 999.”
